Fictional Friday – 4

It was a beautiful day. It was drizzling outside; everything was perfect as every day. But there was something around that tells something is not quite right. Rains were falling as in crying for something about to happen. Clouds were coming to the window peeking whats going on and then shy away as if not wanting to be seen poking his nose in others matter. Rain was sprinkling out as if trying to control harder not to cry and failing miserably at it.

She was sitting nearby her window with her dog, which she loved more than anything. She felt he was the only thing that was keeping her sane till now in the midst of all the chaos. She knew that everyone pretends to know her understands her love her, but he was the only one who actually loved her even if she’s not good enough. She had heard her family talking about putting the dog away, but she never thought they were actually serious about it. She always thought her family was as attached as her with the dog and cannot bear to send him away.

But no one in her family understood, they never seen her as a human being that could suffer, suffer from things she never showed. And just like that, the family decided to put away the dog as they are no longer be able to handle his mischief. They called people and sent him away and that was the last time they saw their daughter smiling. They took away the only little piece in the name of peace she had. They snatch her sanity from her without even asking. They took her the most loved living being of her life.

And there the dog stopped eating and taking anything. He went from being a happy and mischievous dog to being a sad and depressed dog. He wouldn’t let anyone touch him, pet him or go near him. He missed his family and couldn’t understand why they did this to him. Why they left him even when he loved them so much. He started crying the whole day whole night. The family was ignorant and didn’t think about the effect it would have on their dog, whom they had kept for years since he was a puppy.

The family got a call from the shelter regarding the issue but refused to take him back. They thought it’s just a dog, they didn’t consider him as a living being with feelings. All they care for was themselves. Soon enough, the family got the news of the death of their dog. He passed away crying for the family, to back to the place that he considered to be his home. And this news pushed the daughter on the edge, she couldn’t take it anymore. She was so full of regret, agony, and whatnot. The next day early morning, she packed her things and left the house leaving a note. The family never understood her and the bond she had with her dog and now what they had caused was beyond her imagination. They were the reason he is no more. She added that she was there when he was at his lowest and he remains with her when she was down. She couldn’t stay with people who never took him as family. So she is leaving to the place she can actually call home, not a shelter that provides food and a roof but does not consider the feelings of a living being. And with that, she left.

She went on living her life, and helping the animals as much as she could, taking them under her roof, filling them with love that they absolutely deserved.
